Glycol Systems are used to cool your fermenting beer or wine tanks & rooms. The Glycol system is actually a refrigeration system that is used to cool a bath or tub of glycol. Glycol is used in place of water because glycol is an antifreeze and can be cooled below freezing temperatures. Glycol is also used in place of water because it acts as lubrication for the pump and holds temperature in longer tubing runs.

With certain Glycol Chillers the glycol systems might also incorporate a heater to heat the glycol instead of cooling. This can be exceptionally nice in cold weather areas or when you want a fermenation to complete quickly.
